Itinerary

TUESDAY

10.21.25

Mezcal Welcome Dinner

Our trip will officially kick off with a Mezcal dinner at El Distilado. Oaxaca is a premier foodie city, and El Destilado is a perfect representation of the passion there is for food in this city! We'll enjoy their 9-course tasting menu along with mezcal and cocktail pairings.

WEDNESDAY

10.22.25

A Day in the City.

  • Meet our guide in the hotel lobby in the morning for a walking tour of Oaxaca. We'll learn the history and culture that is woven throughout the city. Our stops will include famous sites such as the Temple of Santo Domingo and the zocalo, the main square of the city. No tour would be complete without a visit to the Mercado Benito Juárez, known for its black clay pottery alebrijes.

  • Lunch will be a local spot in the city center known for traditional Oaxacan cuisine.

  • Next: Mezcal! We'll head to one of the premier mezcal bars for a tasting and cocktail class.

  • The evening is free for you to enjoy the city. Those interested can visit a nearby cemetery to view some of the preparations happening for Dia de los Muertos. These are very solemn places, so we will take care to be quiet and respectful of the families present.

THURSDAY

10.23.25

Agave Time!

  • Our morning starts bright and early, but don't worry, we'll stop for a quick roadside breakfast as we head out to the countryside.

  • We will take a private van and guide for our day of mezcal. Our tour will include:

    • Many family-owned pelanques and learn about the different mezcal-making techniques.

    • A traditional lunch in a nearby village.

  • We'll be back at the hotel by 5pm. The evening is free for you to enjoy on your own.

FRIDAY

10.24.25

History, Adventure, Food, Spirit: Your Pick!

  • There is so much to do around Oaxaca that we wanted to give you the choice of how to spend your final day. Select your preferred tour at checkout or feel free to plan something on your own. Options include:

    • Temazcal Cleanse - this traditional medicinal experience includes a steam and massage

    • Hierve del Agua - view the petrified waterfall and bath in the natural pools

    • Food Tour of Oaxaca's Markets

    • Monte Alban - half day tour of pre-Columbian archaeological site

  • We will finish at another highly acclaimed Oaxacan restaurant, Criollo. The 6-course tasting menu is changed every two days in order to utilize the freshest of fresh local ingredients. We'll enjoy the drink pairing, along with the menu for the perfect night to soak in all Oaxaca has to offer!

SATURDAY

10.25.25

Coffee, mole, mezcal, oh my!

  • Today is all about the food! Our hosts for the day will pick us up at our hotel at 8:30am. Don't worry, they will have local coffees and breakfast treats ready for us.

  • The goal for the day: learn how to cook Oaxacan traditional food in the traditional/ancient way in a 100% hands-on cooking class:

    • Mole Making: Learn (and taste!) the different styles before we get our hands dirty and make our own.

    • Get to know Masa: The base for tortillas, empanadas, memelas, tetelas, and more.

    • Plan our own 3-course meal, selecting ingredients from the farm and the market.

    • Cooking together; participants can be involved as much or as little as they prefer

    • Mezcal tasting

    • And we eat!

  • We will be back at the hotel close to 3pm and that concludes the trip!

SUNDAY

10.26.25

  • Our optional hotel includes check-in on October 21 and check-out on October 26.
